We often hear, “What Is There In The Name,” but at the same time great saints like Goswami Tulsidasji have stated, “Dekhiahin roop naam adhina, roop gyan nahin naam adhina.” Your face, physical appearance, or position is under the control of your name, and not vice versa. Anybody can recognise a person when their name is mentioned.
It is said that a tree’s strength depends on the depth of its roots. This Vanshavali not only tells us the names of our co-brothers and community partners, but also introduces us to our roots. Very extensive and determined efforts have been made to give the Vanshavali this shape. It provides us with our lineage and tells us where we have come from, who we are, and what the vision and mission of our ancestors have been.
Our ancestors have handed over a fully grown, strong tree, well rooted in history. We have the responsibility not only to protect it but to help it grow further and ensure that its fruits serve the community at large.
This can happen only if we all remain in touch and communicate with each other freely and without any hesitation. Only then will the purpose of making this Vanshavali be properly served. If we show this unity, we shall contribute greatly to fulfilling the dreams of our ancestors and making them proud.
Wishing the very best to all family members.
